What to Expect

  1. Consultation: We will discuss your goals and determine the best approach for your facelift and neck lift. This procedure is ideal for patients who are no longer achieving desired results from non-surgical treatments like fillers or neurotoxins.

  2. Procedure: The facelift scar is carefully hidden behind the ear and in the hairline. Through this incision, loose skin in the neck and face is tightened, and excess skin is removed. The deeper layer of the face, called the SMAS, is also tightened to provide extra internal support and volume. Facial fat grafting is often combined with a facelift to help with volume restoration.

  3. Recovery: For the first couple of weeks after surgery, you will experience bruising and swelling. Around 2 weeks post-surgery, most patients can resume normal activities such as errands and returning to work.

  • You will have bruising and swelling for the first couple of weeks after surgery. After about 2 weeks, you will be able to return to normal activities including errands and working. Avoid strenuous physical activity for the first couple of weeks after surgery at minimum.

  • The incisions for a facelift and neck lift are strategically placed to be as discreet as possible. They are typically hidden behind the ear and within the natural hairline, making them difficult to detect once healed. The goal is to ensure that the scars are well-concealed, allowing you to enjoy your rejuvenated appearance without noticeable signs of surgery.

  • The goal with a face and neck lift is to have a long-lasting result, which is achieved through repositioning of the deeper layers in the face. The face will continue to age with time, but your results should last for years.

  • Patients who have experienced visible signs of aging in the mid- and lower face are good candidates for a facelift. Active smokers or nicotine users are not good candidates for this surgery.
